Birdemic Shock and Terror

This original fan made poster for Birdemic Shock and Terror started off life as a more fitting tribute to a much better film “The Birds” by the late great Alfred Hitchcock.  As I worked on it I realised there was a film that perhaps appealed to my sensibilities even more, I’ve got a real soft spot for movies that are so bad they’re good.  If you haven’t seen it yet (and I highly recommend it) trust me when I say this one definitely fits the bill.

So in creating this one I went for a slightly different approach than what I had planned with “The Birds” and created something that reminds me a little of the Walking Dead TV series.  I went for the more worn and weathered look and a simple colour scheme to emphasize the use of negative space.  I added the smoke billowing in the background as a callback to some of the terrible visual effects from the film.
